简介:This International Standard specifies three methods for measuring the flexibility of a hose (Method A1, Method B and Method C1) where the deformation of the hose is measured and two methods for measuring stiffness (Method A2 and Method C2) by measuring the force to bend the hose when rubber or plastic hoses or tubing are bent to a specific radius at ambient temperature. Method A1 and A2 are suitable for hoses and tubing of internal diameter up to and including 80 mm. Method A1 allows the measurement of the flexibility of the hose by measuring the reduction in outside diameter when the hose is compressed between two plates. Method A2 provides a means of measuring the force required to reach a specific bend radius (stiffness), when the hose is compressed as between two plates. The test may be carried out at a specified internal pressure. Method B is suitable for hoses and tubing up to and including 100 mm and provides a means of assessing the behaviour of the hose when bent around a mandrel. The final mandrel diameter used may be taken as the minimum bend radius of the hose. As this value is determined by the reduction of the O.D which can be used as a measure of the flexibility of the hose. The hose being tested may be unpressurised, pressurised or under vacuum and if required with the curvature or against the curvature of the hose if such curvature is present. Method C1 and C2 are suitable for hose of 100 mm and above. Method C1 provides a means of determining the flexibility of the hose at the minimum bend radius. Method C2 provides a method of measuring the stiffness of the hose at the bend radius.

简介:This European Standard describes a test method to determine ability of a cured adhesive (possibly with aprimer) to adhere to a substrate which has had a certain surface finish or with a specific surface preparationby using the "three point bending method".It is only used for quality assurance and the substrate should be rigid or resistant enough to bending such assteel or aluminium alloys. For other substrates the thickness should be adjusted to the modulus of elasticity ora suitable stiffener should be used.The adhesive should be polymerisable (curable) without pressure in order to obtain the thickness needed toprovide sufficient rigidity, otherwise, a bonded reinforcing piece of the same type and same thickness as thesubstrate can be substituted for the bloc of adhesive.It is not suitable for film adhesives.

简介:This International Standard specifies an empirical test procedure for assessing the resistance of a coating of paint, varnish or related product to cracking and/or detachment from a metal or plastics substrate when subjected to bending round a cylindrical mandrel under standard conditions.For a multi-coat system, each coat can be tested separately or the complete system can be tested.The method speicfied can be carried out- either as a "pass/fail" test, by carrying out the test with a single specified size of mandrel, to assess compliance with a particular requirement;- or by repeating the procedure using successively smaller mandrels to determine the diameter of the first mandrel over which the coating cracks and/or becomes detached from the substrate.Two types of apparatus are specified, type 1 being appropriate for use on test panels of thickness up to 0.3 mm, and type 2 for use on test panels of thickness up to 1.0mm. Both types of apparatus have been found to give similar results with the same coating, but normally only one will be used for testing a given product.
