They are not equivalent to results from low efficiency distillations such as those obtained with Test Method D86 or D1160. 1.1x00a0;This test method covers the determination of the boiling range distribution of petroleum products and biodiesel formulations, B5, B10, and B20. It is applicable to petroleum distillates having a final boiling point not greater than 5388201;x00b0;C or lower at atmospheric pressure as measured by this test method. Different solvents can be used for this purpose. These pesticide residues are generally associated with other co-extracted compounds which would interfere in the analysis. To purify the crude extracts to be analysed, several techniques can be used. This European Standard contains the following extraction and clean-up methods that have been subjected to interlaboratory studies and/or are adopted throughout Europe: method M: Extraction with acetone and liquid-liquid partition with dichloromethane/light petroleum, if necessary clean-up on Florisil; method N: Extraction with acetone, liquid-liquid partition with dichloromethane or cyclohexane/ethyl acetate and clean-up with gel permeation and silica gel chromatography; method P: Extraction with ethyl acetate, and if necessary, clean-up by gel permeation chromatography. This European Standard specifies the details of methods M, N and P for the extraction and the clean-up of food samples of plant origin. Several solvents at different volumes are used for extraction. Techniques of clean-up are listed such as liquid-liquid partition, liquid chromatography on various adsorbents and gel permeation chromatography. A table providing the couples (matrix/pesticide) which have been submitted to collaborative studies and a list of indicative applicability of the method to different pesticides are given for each method, wherever possible.

Engines, micro-turbines, fuel cells and other equipment may be sensitive to residue levels as low as 10 mg/kg. 5.2x00a0;Contamination of LPG can occur during production, transport, delivery, storage and use. A qualitative indication of the contaminants can help track down the source of the contamination from manufacture, through the distribution system, and to the end user. 5.3x00a0;This test method is designed to provide a lower detection limit, wider dynamic range, and better accuracy than gravimetric methods like Test Method D2158. 5.4x00a0;This test method can be performed with little or no discharge of LPG vapors, compared to Test Method D2158 which requires evaporation of 100 mL of sample per test. 5.5x00a0;Sampling for residue in LPG using sorbent tubes can be performed in the field, and the sorbent tubes sent to a laboratory for analysis. This saves significant costs in shipping (weight of tube is approximately 10 grams), and is much safer and easier than transporting LPG cylinders. 5.6x00a0;This test method determines total residues from C6 to C40, compared to a thermal gravimetric residue method such as Test Method D2158 which heat the residue to 38x00b0;C, resulting in a lower recovery due to loss of lighter residue components. 5.7x00a0;If there is a need to decrease the detection limit of residue or individual compounds of interest below 10 x00b5;g/g, the procedures in this test method can be modified to achieve 50 times enhanced detection limit, or 0.2 x00b5;g/g. 1.1x00a0;This test method covers the determination of residue in LPG by automated thermal desorption/gas chromatography (ATD/GC) using flame ionization detection (FID). 1.2x00a0;The quantitation of residue covers a component boiling point range from 69x00b0;C to 522x00b0;C, equivalent to the boiling points of C6 through C40 n-paraffins. 1.2.1x00a0;The boiling range covers possible LPG contaminants such as gasoline, diesel fuel, phthalates and compressor oil.
