简介:This International standard defines a laboratory method for measuring the emission rate of ozone, during arc welding, using a hood technique. The methodology is directed primarily at measuring ozone emission rate when using gas-shielded arc welding processes but it can also be employed with other processes e. g. selfshielded tubular-cored arc welding, providing that welding can be performed automatically under the hood. Emission rate testing can be used to evaluate the effects of welding parameters, processes, shielding gases, consumable wires etc on ozone emission rate and hence to predict, qualitatively, relative changes in exposure that will occur under the same work situations. Absolute exposure values are dependent upon other factors such as welder position with respect to the plume and draughts and cannot be predicted from emission rate values.

The methods can be used to produce either instantaneous or averaged values for those experimental fires in which time-resolved data are available.ISO 19703:2005 is intended to provide guidance to fire researchers in the recording of appropriate experimental fire data, the calculation of average yields of gases and smoke in fire effluents in fire tests and fire-like combustion in reduced scale apparatus, and the characterization of burning behaviour in experimental fires in terms of equivalence ratio and combustion efficiency using oxygen consumption and product generation data.ISO 19703:2005 does not provide guidance on the operating procedure of any particular piece of apparatus or interpretation of data obtained therein (e.g. toxicological significance of results).

简介:ISO/TS 15011-5:2006 specifies procedures for obtaining information about thermal degradation products generated when welding, cutting through, preheating and straightening products composed wholly or partly of organic substances, e.g. shop primers, paints, adhesives, waxes, sealants, pressing lubricant, oils, etc. It is aimed primarily at test laboratories performing such procedures. The data generated may be used by product manufacturers to provide information for inclusion in safety data sheets and by occupational hygienists to identify thermal degradation products of significance in the performance of risk assessments and/or workplace exposure measurements. The data cannot be used to estimate workplace exposure directly.ISO/TS 15011-5:2006 is applicable to all products composed partly or wholly of organic materials that could be heated, during welding and cutting, to temperatures at which thermal degradation products are generated and where it is not apparent what those degradation products will be.

简介:This part of ISO 15011 specifies procedures for obtaining information about thermal degradation productsgenerated when welding, cutting through, preheating and straightening metal treated with coatings composedwholly or partly of organic substances, e.g. shop primers, paints, oils, waxes and inter?weld materials suchas adhesives and sealants. It is aimed primarily at test laboratories performing such procedures. The datagenerated can be used by coating manufacturers to provide information for inclusion in safety data sheetsand by occupational hygienists to identify thermal degradation products of significance in the performance ofrisk assessments and/or workplace exposure measurements. The data cannot be used to estimate workplaceexposure directly.
